GATS-350 Vacancy – Search Candidate Information / Disability & Reasonable Adjustments

Functionality

The answer options remain as they were: [Yes / No / I do not wish to disclose whether or not I have a disability].

The applicant is asked if they consider themselves to have a disability according to the definition in the Equality Act 2010 to ascertain if the applicant can take part in an assessment, or, interview to determine their suitability for the job.

This is also captured for equal opportunities / diversity monitoring purposes to take positive action, Example: Guaranteeing an interview to applicants who meet the essential criteria for a post.

Where can you find this information in the control panel?

In the ‘Reasonable Adjustments’ Report, the following will show against the applicant:

  • If a user ticks [Yes] to disclose they have a disability, this is reportable under the column [Disability] and will show as: [True]
  • If a user ticks [No] as they do not consider themselves to have a disability, this is reportable under the column [Disability] and will show as:  [False]
  • If a user ticks [I do not wish to disclose], this is reportable under the column [Disability] and will show as:  [            ]

Reasonable Adjustments

If an applicant ticks the box to request any reasonable adjustments in relation to a disability, health or mental health condition, the [Freetext box] appears where they can provide further details.

NOTE:
An applicant can tick either  [Yes / No / I do not wish to disclose whether or not I have a disability] and can still request reasonable adjustments for the interview process.

E.g.      An individual may have a valid reason where they need a reasonable adjustment making as part of the recruitment process

When the request  box is ticked, the comments are is mandatory* to ascertain the request detail

Control Panel:

Users will be able to see if reasonable adjustments have been requested here in:

Vacancy > Application > Overview

This indicator will say either: [Reasonable Adjustments – yes] or [Reasonable Adjustments – No] depending on what has been submitted by the applicant.

(Screen shot – Note: Records are currently showing as ‘No’ until we update it)
